Pt. Ratnakar Pai, a living legend, is doing yeoman service to preserve and enhance the rich tradition of a rare and difficult Jaipur gharana. Jaipur gayaki is known for its rare ragas and compositions, pure raga forms with emphasis, on perfect tones and notes. Pt. Pai's performances are treat to the perfectionists and purists among classical music enthusiasts. For his contribution to classical music Pt.Pai has been recognised by Govt. of Maharashtra and institutions like Sangeet Research Academy.
